January 20: Tuftonboro, NH
From Max Ledoux: Kate Braestrup, Ricochet’s favorite best-selling author & minister from Maine, will be doing a book talk at my public library on Saturday, January 20, at 11AM. All Ricochet members are welcome, and if anyone shows up, depending on how many, we’ll either go back to my house afterward or go to a restaurant in neighboring Wolfeboro. Visit Max's post and tell him you are coming.
March, 2018: Washington, DC
ChefSly is looking at putting together a weekend meetup during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Better head over to his post and tell him you're coming.
Summer, 2018: Maine
No date or exact location has been set but TG has written a post where people can toss ideas around for setting up a weekend meetup in Maine.
A Weekend in Memphis: TBA
It has been suggested that Memphis is an attractive, accessible and fun place to host a meetup, and may also attract some VIPs that we would love to have drop in. Suggestions & offers to help organize this would be welcomed. Please email me at Melissa@Ricochetmeetup.com for more information.
Ricochet Meet Up is Created By and For the Members of Ricochet.com, and is Where You Can Learn More About Our Unique Gatherings Around the Country and the World. Join Ricochet (first month free here), then Join us at a Meetup!
From Stad:"My primary reason being a member of Ricochet is the podcasts. However, Meetups have moved rapidly up the list, and have topped posting as my secondary reason for joining. Here’s why:
*You meet great people . . .
*They agree with most of what you feel . . *But they may have different viewpoints .
*And you can discuss them without coming to blows . . .
*Then you eat together and be merry. What’s wrong with that?
Friday Night Shabbos Meal with iWc in NW Baltimore
iWcThis is an invitation for all Ricocheteers to come to my home for a Shabbos meal. Friday night meals are very, very special: we prep all week for them... the guests, the menu, even the flowers. The meal (my wife is an exquisite cook) is served on the finest china, along with beautiful a cappella music, first-rate conversation, discussions of Torah and politics, waited on by well-mannered and hardworking children. And the meal is complete with the full regalia of Orthodox Jewish rituals, and with a host only too happy to explain what the heck is going on.
And we do this EVERY WEEK. Which means that we would love to have any/all of you on a Friday night of your choosing. All we ask is one week's notice to confirm in case we are invited out, etc. With only a handful of exceptions over the past 20 years, we ALWAYS have guests, so it is no imposition.
The time: 1 hour after sunset.
The place: NW Baltimore.
The food: you will roll home.
The guests: you tell me!
Let us know!
Thank You, Randy Weivoda!
