Early July: Atlanta
genferei is going to be in Atlanta for the week of July 1-8 and would like to host a meetup one night. Go visit his post and let him know you're game.
July 19-23: Las Vegas
Doc Jay, Dave Sussman & Melissa@6foot2inhighheelshoes will be greeting Rico friends at dinner on Friday night (exact location and time to be determined). We're in Las Vegas for FreedomFest to report on the event and interview the movers and shakers all weekend. We may have some surprise guests at dinner, so it will be a pleasant opportunity to meet some folks you've admired for a while. Go HERE or HERE for updates on the Ricochet members only post, or join the members only meetup group page on Ricochet HERE.
We encourage you to join us at FreedomFest, where you can hear and meet luminaries from across the spectrum of freedom-loving folks, and watch Dave Sussman's Whiskey Politics in action. The event is somewhat pricey, but a lot of fun. Message any of us on Ricochet to let us know you'll be there!
Because the 3 of us will be working as reporter, cameraman and publicist during the event, we can't plan anything more than dinner on Friday. Doc Jay and Dave will be supplying the details at Ricochet shortly, but we won't be able to plan anything beyond dinner. Anyone who wants to put together an itinerary for a group weekend would be a real hero, whether or not you plan on attending FreedomFest.
July 23: Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA
To commemorate Peter Robinson's "Tear Down This Wall" speech (delivered by Ronald Reagan), Pat Sajak will be interviewing Peter at the Reagan Library for an episode of Uncommon Knowledge. Ricochet party to follow. There's a lot more to it than that of course, so you ought to go read the actual post here.
September 8-10: Glacier National Park, MT
Randy Weivoda, sawatdeeka, and Kay of MT are putting together a fun-filled weekend meetup in scenic Bigfork, Montana. We will have a group excursion to Glacier National Park on Saturday the 9th. Some people may choose to go horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, touring the town, or just hanging out. Some of the most lovable people on Ricochet will be there. If you want to get in on the planning, click here. Updated announcement here.
A Weekend in Memphis: TBA
It has been suggested that Memphis is an attractive, accessible and fun place to host a meetup, and may also attract some VIPs that we would love to have drop in. Suggestions & offers to help organize this would be welcomed. Please email me at Melissa@Ricochetmeetup.com for more information.
Ricochet Meet Up is Created By and For the Members of Ricochet.com, and is Where You Can Learn More About Our Unique Gatherings Around the Country and the World. Join Ricochet (first month free here), then Join us at a Meetup!
From Stad:"My primary reason being a member of Ricochet is the podcasts. However, Meetups have moved rapidly up the list, and have topped posting as my secondary reason for joining. Here’s why:
*You meet great people . . .
*They agree with most of what you feel . . *But they may have different viewpoints .
*And you can discuss them without coming to blows . . .
*Then you eat together and be merry. What’s wrong with that?
Friday Night Shabbos Meal with iWc in NW Baltimore
iWcThis is an invitation for all Ricocheteers to come to my home for a Shabbos meal. Friday night meals are very, very special: we prep all week for them... the guests, the menu, even the flowers. The meal (my wife is an exquisite cook) is served on the finest china, along with beautiful a cappella music, first-rate conversation, discussions of Torah and politics, waited on by well-mannered and hardworking children. And the meal is complete with the full regalia of Orthodox Jewish rituals, and with a host only too happy to explain what the heck is going on.
And we do this EVERY WEEK. Which means that we would love to have any/all of you on a Friday night of your choosing. All we ask is one week's notice to confirm in case we are invited out, etc. With only a handful of exceptions over the past 20 years, we ALWAYS have guests, so it is no imposition.
The time: 1 hour after sunset.
The place: NW Baltimore.
The food: you will roll home.
The guests: you tell me!
Let us know!
Thank You, Randy Weivoda!
